The INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION-CONFERENCE DEVOTED TO THE PREPARATION OF THE FIFA WORLD CUP 2018 was held in the SCC on May 21-23, 2013.

FOOTBALL BUILD EXPO is a unique event second to none in Russia has attracted a lot of interest from international and Russian state and public organizations, and business representatives.
120 companies from 12 countries, such as Russia, Ukraine, Finland, Germany, Switzerland, Israel, Italy, France, Holland, Great Britain, Japan, Poland attended the exhibition and the conference.

OPENING CEREMONY

During the opening of the FOOTBALL BUILD EXPO, Pavel Kolobkov, the Deputy Minister of Sports of Russia highlighted: "We attend the grand event. This is a perfect opportunity to establish useful business contacts between the organizers of the upcoming World Cup and the companies, which will take part in the preparations to the global football forum."

BUSINESS PROGRAM

During the FOOTBALL BUILD EXPO conference, Alexander Jorjadze, Deputy Director of "Russia 2018" Organizing Committee, Director of the Department for Relations with FIFA and Work with Public Authorities, made a report called "The FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia. Challenges and Opportunities”. He illuminated the main requirements of the FIFA to host the World Cup and spoke about the readiness of regions for today. Alexander Zorkov, Deputy General Director of the Russian Football Union recalled the strategy of football development in Russia for 2006-2016. In his view, "the results of this strategy can be seen in the coming years."

Aleksey Tarasenko, President Advisor of the Russian Football Union, told about current level of Russia readiness to the FIFA World Cup 2018 regarding security issues.

Shigeo Suzuki, President of the Panasonic Rus and Mikhail Kommisarov, ISD Managing Director talked about contribution of technology companies in the sport and football in particular.

Victor Myakonkov, General Director of the Russian Association of Sports Facilities, acquainted with the experience of the application of innovative technologies in design of football stadiums, in the interests of physically challenged people.

Several presentations were devoted to design, construction and operation of stadiums. Charles R. Botta, CEO of Botta Management Group AG, managing projects in construction and operation of large objects, presented his vision of the "ideal stadium”. According to him, sports arenas could become the "heart of the event", attract guests equally with castles and cathedrals. Therefore it is necessary to keep strictly to the budget and the time frame.

In turn, Dmitri Popov, Deputy General Director of Sport Engineering told about design of football stadiums in such four cities as Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg and Rostov-on-Don.

Report of Andrew Sanin, Head of Consulting department of Donbass Arena was a success. In his speech, he introduced to the audience some schemes for use of a sports complex, as well as marketing policy of Donbass Arena Limited Liability Company.

Thomas Schrader, Vice-President of ArenaCom told about conditions to create a profitable stadium.

ОRichard Hayden, a representative of Engo Group, introduced to the audience modern technology and know-how, which let arena owners to maintain natural grass in good condition with temperature fluctuations from -25 to +37 degrees.

Nikolay Zhukov, General Director of Alliance Premium Arena, supported his colleague, describing the experience in work in Russia by giving an example of such stadiums as Petrovsky, Locomotive and training center of Zenit Football Club.

Representatives from Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad and Kazan held their presentations of the regions devoted to preparation to the FIFA World Cup 2018.

EXPOSITION

Visitors saw athletic achievements in the regions, detailed models of stadiums in progress and learned about the prospects of data infrastructure development in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation at the booths of the World Cup 2018 host cities such as St. Petersburg, Kazan, Saransk, Kaliningrad. Panasonic Rus presented complex solutions for football stadiums on its stand. The exhibition demonstrated wide screens, video cameras, projectors, etc., which are already used at design of major sports venues, as well as new devices.

ISD , being the leader in the field of integrated payment and access systems, presented latest developments, in particular, the flagship model of the fifth generation of the ticket reader with own trade name ”Pike-Reader” at the FOOTBALL BUILD EXPO exhibition.

The Russian Association of Sports Facilities provided to participants and guests a unique publication called "Football Stadiums". The book describes in details all stages of design and construction of the stadium, as well as aspects of operation and management of the sports arena.

Queens International together with Premium Alliance Arena, Golf Technology (Russia), as well as Engo Group Joint Venture (Russia-Ukraine-Slovakia) introduced at their stands high technologies for the production of natural turf and maintenance equipment.

The exposition of the leading manufacturers of coatings for artificial football fields, such as Bamard (Russia) and Optilon (Russia) provided the opportunity to can see the latest developments in creation of artificial grass, as well as systems for maintenance of sports arenas.

Evroimport demonstrated topical products for many Russian regions. During the exhibition, they presented protective coatings for soccer fields and stadiums both against adverse weather conditions and coatings used in the transformation of sports arena into a concert venue.

Chimolai (Italy) is one of the most innovative companies in the field of metal working both in Italy and abroad. The Italians together with MORSPETSSTROYMONTAZH (Russia) presented the development in design and construction of stadiums and sports facilities of any kind.

KS Investroy" (Russia) together with LINDAB Building (Sweden), and Intex (Russia) demonstrated building solutions on FOOTBALL BUILD EXPO.

Diss-Transexpo, Ukrainian consortium is a leading system integrator of complex technical systems. Company implements innovative projects at various sites. The company introduced integrated engineering solutions for stadiums as a part of the Football Build Expo.

Chairs for VIP-boxes, benches and spare stands were presented at the stands of Lino Sonego (Italy), Pronto Seething (Russia) and New-Coliseum (Russia).

Darepro Oy (Finland) - one of the leading manufacturers of video screens for sports arenas showed LED screens. According to the company, the exhibition allowed to sign new contracts. TV broadcasting systems, video and audio equipment for the organization of broadcasts, as well as audio-visual solutions to design football competition were shown at the booth of representatives of Window-TV Sports.

FOOTBALL BUILD EXPO was the project that became an excellent platform to build an effective dialogue between private investors wishing to participate in the creation of the infrastructure necessary to host the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia, and the representatives of the executive authorities of constituent entities of the Russian Federation involved in the conduct of championship matches.

Statistics demonstrates that in 2013 FOOTBALL BUILD EXPO exhibition attracted more than 1,200 trade visitors from 12 countries, including 94 per cent of top and medium-level managers.
