Participants

We invite to participation students and graduating students (up to 2 years after graduation) from Russian and foreign specialized educational schools.

Jury

The head of the jury – Maya Kuznetsova, managing director of the Bureau of innovative educational technologies, St Petersburg.
Members of jury are key specialists of fashion-industry: managing directors and leading designers of manufacturing companies, representatives of trade companies and journalists.

General information

Contest purpose: to give a professional valuation to fashion collections as well as represent to public the names of talented young designers.
Evaluation criteria: originality and creativity in a concept of clothes garments.

Collections of participants are presented at «GENERATION NEXT» section. Annually participants of the contest are from the following educational schools:

  • St Petersburg State University of Service and Economics
  • St Petersburg State University of Technologies and Design
  • Shtiglits St Petersburg State Academy of Art and Industry
  • Engineer school of clothes
  • Baltic Institute of Ecology, Politics and Law.

Terms of participation and agenda

  1. Choice of student collections takes place on March 2, at 15.00 at the main level of the Saint Petersburg Sports-and-Concert Complex, at "GENERATION NEXT" section.
    A participant should have 2-3 models of the collection that will be presented on mannequins.
  2. The contest lasts 4 days in frames of “Fashion Industry” International fair on March 3-6, 2010. During this time public and professional juries should choose 3 best models from all presented, complete a correspondent form and give it to the administrator of “GENERATION NEXT” fashion center. A winner of the competition becomes a collection which gets the majority of votes.
  3. Results of the contest will be placed on the fair’s web-page and advertisement leaflets of “Fashion Industry. Autumn-2010”. (The Organizers reserve the possibility to publish photos of models participating in the contest onto web-page of the fair and other advertisement leaflets).
  4. The ceremony of awarding the winner will take place during the Grand Opening of 36th “Fashion Industry” fair on October 6, 2010. The winner will be awarded with «Art Index» catalogue. A photo of the winner will be placed onto fair web-page. All participants are awarded with special certificates.
  5. At the end of the contest on March 6, from 17.00 till 18.00 all participants should remove the models from the fair.
  6. The organizers will provide all participants with contact details of people interested in collections during the fair.

Results of the contest «GENERATION NEXT» - AUTUMN 2009

The following specialized schools took part in the contest:

  • Engineer school of clothes
  • Shtiglits St Petersburg State Academy of Art and Industry
  • St Petersburg State University of Technologies and Design
  • St Petersburg State University of Service and Economics

Collections of participants were presented at a special fashion center “GENERATION NEXT”. This time the contest attracted particular attention of fair visitors. The record number of completed voting forms was addressed to the Organizers. According to public and professional voting grand-prix of the contest «GENERATION NEXT. AUTUMN 2009» was given to collection “TLINKITY” by Olga Grebtsova, a student of Design Institute of St Petersburg State University of Technologies and Design.

An awarding ceremony will take place will take place during the Grand Opening of 36th “Fashion Industry” fair on March 3, 2010 . All participants are awarded with special certificates.
